To ensure you enjoy the full luxury of our candles, we’ve put together a few tips and tricks on how to properly care for your candles, as well as how to use our candle accessories—the candle snuffer, wick trimmer, and blotter—for the perfect burn every time.
1. First Burn is Crucial!
Your first burn is important to setting the foundation for how the candle burns in the future. Allow the candle to burn long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the container. This will ensure an even burn and help prevent tunneling. For the best results, we recommend allowing the candle to burn for 2–3 hours on your first use.
2. Wick Trimming
Trimming your wick is key to achieving a clean and even burn. Always trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn to avoid excess smoke and soot. Use our Luxe Glowe Wick Trimmer for a perfect, clean cut. This helps the candle burn more evenly and lasts longer.

3. Use a Candle Blotter
If you notice that the candle’s flame is flickering or the wax is pooling unevenly, use our Luxe Glowe Candle Blotter to gently absorb excess wax. This will help the candle burn more evenly and prevent messy wax drips.
4. Snuffing Out the Flame
When it’s time to put out your candle, we recommend using a Candle Snuffer instead of blowing it out. Blowing on a candle can cause hot wax to splatter or disturb the wick, while a snuffer will put the flame out gently without disrupting the wax. This also helps preserve the fragrance and the integrity of the wick.
5. Keep the Candle Clean
Keep your candle’s surface clean by wiping away any dust or debris that might collect on the wax. You can use a soft cloth to gently clean the surface. Be sure to remove any wick trimmings that fall into the wax before lighting it again.
6. Never Leave a Candle Burning Unattended
Always keep an eye on your candle while it’s burning. Never leave it unattended, and keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface to prevent damage to furniture.
7. Recycle Your Candle Containers
Once your candle has burned down, don’t forget to recycle the container! Most of our glass containers are reusable, and you can wash them with warm soapy water to repurpose them for other uses.
